Event Management tool

A tool for event management in Fedora-MY site

This is a lab project (ie. Development)

Currently is being handled by izhar/KageSenshi

Rationale

Managing / organizing and event could be tough. Tasks such as agenda/schedule, guest registration, task assignment, CFP,  event promotion, and sponsorship need to be managed and organized to keep crew members updated. This system is designed to aid such purpose.

  • Agenda/Schedule System
    • Aid in creating tracks and sessions of a conference-style event
    • Link to speaker profile and session abstract
  • Speaker profile
    • Show speaker profile and information about the speaker
  • Guest registration
    • Allow guests to register to an event
    • Aid in processing the workflow for payment etc
    • Automatically inform guest on workflow change
    • Announce list to announce latest updates to guests
  • Task System
    • assign tasks to crew
    • support hierarchical tasks
  • Call For Paper
    • system for speakers to submit call for paper submission
    • support approval workflow & voting/rating
  • Sponsor profile
    • Allow adding of sponsor profile
    • Sponsor logo would be shown in the event planner pages
  • Sponsorship package
    • Show available sponsorship packages
    • Potential sponsors may send email to request for info
  • Event Map
    • Show event location in a map

Technical Spec

The system would be developed on top of Plone for integration into the Fedora-My site.
